This is the first stage of a transformation which will affect the entire transport network of the Toulouse metropolitan area. Tisséo begins to install new validators in metro stations.
New contactless ticket
Contactless validators, intended to support the deployment of a new contactless ticket too. A “more robust and rechargeable” ticket according to Tisséo, which should allow “saving time with a simplified validation gesture”.
He will be put into service from March 26. This is a contactless and reusable ticket that can be recharged around thirty times. “Its technology is reliable and proven by several transport networks: Lille, Bordeaux, Rennes, Strasbourg, Dijon, Clermont-Ferrand,” indicates Tisséo.
100 validators installed
By the end of March, 100 new generation validators will be installed, with the busiest stations being equipped last.
The good old paper tickets to be inserted into the validators will be valid until May 31.
-In each station, the validator located furthest to the right will be dedicated to these old generation tickets. All others will be equipped with validation with bank cards and contactless transport cards.
Buses and trams already equipped
To smoothly support this transition to the new rechargeable tickets and contactless, Tisséo will set up tutorials, videos and various communication supports. Agents will also be present, at the station or in agencies, to guide travelers.
New validators for PMRs
The gate validators intended for people with reduced mobility will also be replaced. They were manufactured especially for Tisséo, after consultation with associations. “The validation gesture is made easier for people holding a pastel card or soon a rechargeable ticket,” indicates Tisséo.
Old generation tickets can be exchanged until July 31, 2025. Please note, buses and trams are already equipped with the new validators.
