We must crack down on sexual perverts who prey on our young people

I have not yet recovered from my interview with a young woman who managed to escape from the clutches of her pimp after having suffered the worst sexual abuse. Her pimp handed her body over to hundreds of unscrupulous men. What she had to endure from these customers is beyond belief. Sexual acts so despicable that she had to erase them from her memory to stay alive.

At 15, Chloé-Kim Bussière is a teenager like so many others. She hangs out at the mall with her friends. Dream of Prince Charming. She has never made love, but imagines herself with a tender and gentle partner. Her young carefreeness hits a wall when she meets Joseph, a smooth talker who promises her a life of dreams and love.

This pimp weaves his web, keeps him away from his friends, isolates him from his loved ones. The trap is tightening. The young girl loses her virginity on the table of a private club. Joseph rapes her in front of everyone. He apologizes the next day, tells her he loves her.

“He took pieces of my soul”

When she tells me her story, the 32-year-old woman can’t believe she was so naive. “At the time,” she says, “I wasn’t equipped.” Today, is a teenager more so? I doubt it. It’s a vulnerable age. We are rebellious. Influenceable. Can a young person just out of childhood face the proven tactics of pimps alone? No. Joseph threatened Chloé-Kim to attack those close to him. Fear prevented her from filing a complaint.

“Make Daddy Cum!”

Drugged without her knowledge, beaten, repeatedly raped, sent to Toronto, she was almost sold to a human trafficking network. She had to submit to the worst sexual acts of vicious and deranged clients. Like this man, undoubtedly married and father of children, who ordered her “Suck, my dear, make daddy cum!”.

These words still resonate in her head, as brutal proof of the dehumanization she suffered. His fantasy is to rape his daughter? Where does this perverse desire come from? It is disgusting, degrading and criminal.

If we were talking about customers

Despite everything we can say to protect our children from these libidinous criminals, they are increasingly the target of sexual predators whose deviance is disgusting. For these malicious beings who scan schoolyards and social networks, this fresh flesh is just another commodity to exploit.

These pimps operate without fear of the police who have few resources in the face of organized networks. At worst, it will be a sweet sentence.

What shocks me the most is that we never talk about customer responsibility. These men of all ages actively participate in the exploitation of minors. Each sexual act paid to a pimp fuels a system of violence, abuse and destruction.

All these predators who dirty our children to satisfy their unhealthy impulses must be severely punished.
