The Presidency of the Republic announces the holding of the first edition of the Conference of Public Administrators and Managers (CAMP), a strategic event initiated by the Head of State, His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
Scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center (CICAD), this meeting will bring together the main actors from the public and parapublic sectors around the major challenges of national governance.
According to the source, this conference is a continuation of the government seminar organized on April 27, 2024 by the Head of State, which aimed to improve the coordination and impact of public policies. From now on, the CAMP will be held each year in the first quarter to allow public administrators and managers to discuss and align with the government’s strategic priorities.
The first edition aims to strengthen the capacities of public officials by placing particular emphasis on the fundamentals of governance, conduct and control of public action.
The themes covered reflect the ambitions of Vision Senegal 2050, which aspires to build a sovereign, just and prosperous country. Among the specific objectives of the conference: the presentation of Vision Senegal 2050 and the priority axes of the 2025 finance law, the strengthening of knowledge on the organization of administrations and digital transformation in the public sphere, the promotion of good governance and control of public action, with interventions by regulatory and verification bodies.
The work of this first edition will be structured around three major themes: Vision Senegal 2050 and finance law 2025: an opportunity to understand the budgetary priorities and strategic orientations of the government, organization and digital transformation of administrations with a focus on reforms structural and the integration of digital technology as a lever for transparency and efficiency but also good governance and control of public action, in particular raising awareness of the principles of accountability, with interventions by the main control bodies.
-Participants will leave better informed about their responsibilities, aligned with national guidelines and made aware of the importance of digital transformation and good governance. The ultimate objective is to guarantee an administration that serves citizens, is more efficient and transparent.
With this initiative, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye reaffirms his commitment to effective and ethical public management, placing Senegal on the path to sustainable and inclusive development.
Many leading personalities are expected at this event, including the Prime Minister, members of the government, leaders of central and parapublic administrations, as well as representatives of regulatory institutions such as the Court of Auditors and the Mediator of the Republic.
