After the heavy defeat in the Champions League semi-final, owhere the Genevans lost 1-6 at home against Zurich on Wednesday evening, the GSHC players were keen to get back at Vernets. And they actually responded against Kloten this evening, winning their match 2-0 thanks to a solid collective performance.

In a match which above all offered a lot of technical waste, the Genevans had to be patient. Despite jumping from one goal to another, neither of the two opponents managed to find the fault after the first forty minutes.

The Genevans ended up opening the score 25 seconds after the second return from the locker room. Quick to escape from the fray, Jooris received a perfect pass from Granlund to deceive Waeber.

Jooris was the liberator of the Eagles, since it was again he who flew to ensure the Geneva victory in the empty cage 34 seconds from the final siren against an opponent deprived of his suspended topscorer Miro Aaltonen.

Successful evening for Friborg

In the other matches of the evening, Friborg avoided the slide in Ajoie on Friday. At the bottom, the Dragons turned the game around mid-match to win 2-1. Lugano picked up a prestigious success at Resega against Davos for the great first of Uwe Krupp at the helm. The Ticinese, still under the bar with Ajoie, dominated the Graubünden, 3rd in the standings before the match, with a score of 6-3.

Zug did even better by outclassing Bern in the capital 1-5, to take second place previously occupied by the Bears.

The duel between Ambri and the Zurich Lions, in Ticino, turned to the advantage of the visitors (3-2 ap), thanks to a goal from Malgin in overtime.
