Some press and networks widely disseminated information according to which Madame Absa Faye, second wife of the President of the Republic Bassirou Diomaye Faye, gave birth this Friday morning in a local hospital. False information according to the presidency which released a press release to deny these allegations and call the media to order in their treatment of information.
“For several hours, information reporting that the wife of the Head of State, Mame Absa FAYE, has given birth, has been circulating on some online sites and social networks.
Madam First Lady is doing perfectly well and has not been admitted, for any reason whatsoever, to a health establishment.
We invite the media and the public to demonstrate responsibility and rigor in verifying information before its dissemination, in order to avoid harming the privacy and serenity of victims,” the note said.
