At the finish, 3:57 separated Al Rajhi from Lategan. This is the second smallest final gap among cars since 2010. Jean-Marc Fortin’s Belgian Overdrive Racing team also returns to success on the most famous rally-raid after the Sainz-Audi parenthesis in 2024.
It was Nasser Al-Attiyah who won the last stage of the Dakar 2025 by 38 seconds over Lategan, who was defeated with honors, and 39 over his opponent Mattias Ekström for the lowest step on the podium. It was the Swede who had the last word, 3:37 ahead of Al-Attiyah. A great reward for Ford M-Sport and the all-new Raptor which has clearly won over.
Overall, the American Mitch Guthrie completes the Top 5 but at 1h02:10. The second Ford driver precedes Matthieu Serradori (Century), the second Overdrive driver Juan Yacopini (Toyota) and Joao Ferreira in the first MINI. Seth Quintero (Toyota) and Brian Baragwanath (Century) climbed into the final Top 10. At the end of a Dakar that was difficult to say the least, Guillaume de Mévius is heading towards 22nd place overall in cars and 18th position in Ultimate.
-In the motorcycle category, if Michael Docherty wins the stage victory, Daniel Sanders becomes the second Australian motorcycle rider to win the Dakar after Toby Price (2016, 2019). “Chucky” also brings KTM its 20th success in the race. The Spaniard Tosha Schareina finished 2nd ahead of Adrien Van Beveren. Jérôme Martiny finished in 26th place.
