Under construction since October 2022, the Gastronomia project was inaugurated in mid-March in Seraing. This real estate complex, which aims for an urban requalification of the center of Seraing, brings together living spaces and meeting places in the old halls built by John Cockerill when he arrived in Seraing in 1817. These are modern apartments, a food court , food stores, office spaces… all supported by several developers including Thomas&Piron, Dyls and Gehlen Immo. (The latter also carries the climbing gym in the Cointe basilica.)
Adjoining the Gastronomia hall, a joint mixed real estate project, with a surface area of 12,000 m², focused on leisure and sport, with probably some shops, should see the light of day with the aim of attracting a younger audience. The “Meuse Loisirs” includes 8 state-of-the-art cinemas, an indoor playground, an arcade room, a laser game area as well as a 12-lane bowling alley. But also catering with terrace, 10 padel courts, trampolines, climbing for children. This, at the corner of rue Jean Potier.
The public inquiry is open until February 12. At the helm: the Gehlen and Unibox groups. The R9 Studio-Architecte firm is responsible for the architecture.
