The Ministry of National Education and the Renault Maroc Foundation sign an agreement

Chaired by the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mohamed Saad Berrada, the signing ceremony of this agreement took place in the presence of the General Director of Renault Group and President of the Renault Maroc Foundation, Mohamed Bachiri, as well as representatives of the IBM Maroc company and the Al-Jisr Association, indicates the ministry in a press release.

This partnership is part of the ministry’s strategy aimed at supporting and developing teaching and learning in our country, in accordance with the provisions of framework law 51.17 and the objectives of the 2022-2026 roadmap, stipulating the improving the quality of learning, particularly through strengthening the integration of ICT in teaching to support digital transformation and guarantee the adequacy of the skills acquired to the demands of the labor market, with emphasis on the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and facilitating the transition of secondary school students to higher education. According to the press release, this partnership aims to deploy the P-TECH model in the Ksar Sghir technical high school, located at the provincial directorate of Fahs-Anjra under the regional academy of education and training of the Tangier region. -Tétouan-Al Hoceima, to offer young people from rural areas equitable access to education aligned with the needs of the IT labor market, particularly in the automotive industry.

This program also aims to create an extensive network of P-TECH educational establishments allowing young people from all over Morocco to have equitable access to quality education, which demonstrates the program’s continued commitment to the transformation of education in Morocco.

In Morocco, the P-TECH program was launched, in its pilot phase in 2017, in partnership with the company IBM Morocco at the Ibn Ghazala high school located at the provincial directorate of Aïn Sebaâ, under the regional academy of education and of the formation of the Casablanca-Settat region. This partnership enabled students to master the technological skills required in the job market.

Indeed, the pilot project gave convincing results both in terms of the high baccalaureate success rates and the opportunities for the graduates, continues the ministry, noting that the baccalaureate success rate, at the level of this high school, reached 84 % in 2023 and 98.85% in 2024, thus highlighting the effectiveness of the P-TECH model in preparing students for national exams.

BTS students, having benefited from this program, distinguished themselves in 2024 at the national level by being ranked first, demonstrating the excellence of their training and their commitment.

This partnership between the ministry and the Renault Maroc Foundation with the support of IBM Maroc and the Al Jisr Association will make it possible to expand the target categories of this program.

Under this agreement, the parties are committed to continuing their collaboration to achieve the objectives set by this agreement, which also illustrates the continued commitment of the Renault Maroc Foundation to access to education, particularly in the province of Fahs-Anjra, concludes the press release.
