The Honor Earbuds Open, the latest additions to the Chinese manufacturer’s audio range, are available. These wireless headphones adopt an open design and integrate several innovative features oriented towards artificial intelligence.
While we mainly know the Honor brand for its smartphones, the Chinese company also offers some headphones. Until now, the models were of the in-ear type. With the Open Earbuds, Honor is expanding the market segment of open models, therefore without introduction into the ear canal and thus allowing you to remain alert to what is happening around you. They compete with several headphones of the same type recently put on the market such as Shokz OpenFit, Sony LinkBuds Open, Bose Ultra Open Earbuds, Nothing Ear (open), Xiaomi OpenWear Stereo or Huawei FreeClip, for example.

Wireless headphones: the best Bluetooth headphones to choose in 2025
Thus, the design of the Honor Earbuds Open prioritizes comfort of use above all. Their open structure therefore frees the ear canal, thus avoiding any feeling of pressure during prolonged use. The headphones weigh just 6.8 grams and are equipped with ergonomic ear hooks incorporating a memory wire for optimal stability.
As mentioned, this open design also has the advantage of maintaining a certain awareness of the sound environment, an asset for safety during outdoor activities. In addition, the IP54 certification also ensures protection against dust and splashing water.
Solid audio performance and battery life
The headphones feature 13.4mm dynamic drivers with titanium membrane. The manufacturer has developed a bass optimization algorithm which adapts in real time to the listening volume. Directional sound technology aims to limit sound leakage despite the open design.
In terms of battery life, the Honor Earbuds Open offer up to 6 hours of continuous use, increased to 22 hours with the charging case. The connection is made via Bluetooth 5.2 and allows simultaneous pairing with two devices. The headphones support SBC and AAC audio codecs.
Advanced AI features and translations in the program
Honor relies heavily on artificial intelligence to enrich the user experience. The headphones incorporate an active noise reduction system for calls based on three microphones and AI algorithms. A real-time translation function is also offered. It works by sharing a pair of headphones between two users, but also via a brand smartphone. The interlocutor thus speaks into the mobile microphone and the dialogues are translated in real time in the headphones. This can work for one or two people, each with an earbud on their ear.
The Earbuds Open earbuds feature touch controls that allow you to control playback, calls and activate a low-latency gaming mode. The AI Space companion app provides access to additional settings, like equalizer.
