The Anadolu team photographed vehicles belonging to deposed Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, his brother Maher al-Assad and their family members, including many luxury cars.

As Syria was gripped by widespread destruction and economic crisis during the civil war, the Assad family owned dozens of luxury cars, worth millions of dollars, including Ferrari F50, Ferrari 2 Berlinetta, Lamborghini Murcielago, Aston Martin, Bentley, Cadillac, Audi TT and Mercedes-AMG.

The garage of the Presidential Palace in Damascus, photographed by the Anadolu team, looks like a luxury gallery where rare and collectible vehicles are displayed, whether classic cars, sports cars or cars electrical.

The Ferrari F50, one of the vehicles identified in the Assad family garage, is often associated with businessmen and collectors due to its limited production and market value.

The market value of the F50, which is one of the most expensive models of the Ferrari brand, is around $3 million. The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, which is one of the palace’s luxury vehicles, is valued at around $2 million.

Among the luxury vehicles in the car park, the Murcielago model from the Italian car manufacturer Lamborghini is one of the sports cars produced in limited numbers and which finds buyers at astronomical prices.

The average sale price of Murcielago models, favored by collectors and car enthusiasts, can reach a million dollars.

Among the vehicles owned by the Assad family, the Aston Martin is one of the most notable. Vehicles from British automaker Aston Martin can fetch up to $1.5 million, depending on model and features.

Vehicles from British luxury car manufacturer Bentley are also parked in the Assad family’s garage. The most modest models of this brand are offered for sale for a price of about 320 thousand dollars.

Among the luxury vehicles on display in the parking lot, the AMG G 63 SUV model from German automobile company Mercedes has a list price of $186,000.

Additionally, although Syria was subject to heavy sanctions during the long years of civil war, the Assad family garage is home to Cadillac’s new generation of Escalade electric cars.

Produced in the SUV category, the selling price of this luxurious vehicle can reach $170,000.
