The local national team of Senegal, title holders, will know their opponents for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) following the draw scheduled for this Wednesday at the Kenyatta International Convention Center in Nairobi, Kenya. This draw will mark a key step in the preparation of the eighth edition of this prestigious competition, which will be held from February 1 to 28, 2024.

CHAN 2024, organized jointly by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, will bring together the best local national teams on the continent, highlighting players playing in the national championships. The Confederation of African (CAF) has announced that the draw will be conducted by three African football legends: Hassan Wasswa of Uganda, Mrisho Ngasa of Tanzania and McDonald Mariga of Kenya.

Senegal, defending champion, is preparing to defend its trophy during this edition, marking its fourth participation in CHAN. The Senegalese team aspires to repeat its previous feat and maintain its dominant position in African football.

The list of teams already qualified for CHAN 2024, host countries: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda. The other teams: Morocco, Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania, Niger, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo, Sudan, Zambia, Angola and Madagascar.

CAF will announce the last two qualified teams, thus completing the list of participants. This Wednesday’s draw will allow Senegal and other teams to know their opponents and begin to develop their strategies for this crucial competition.
