In the post-match press conference, played Saturday at the Stade d’Honneur in Meknes, the French technician indicated that AS FAR played “calmly and without pressure”, noting that the Soldiers “waited, controlled, before to score.”

On the other hand, Velud noted that Raja’s equalizer put pressure on his players who, nevertheless, remained focused on their goal… qualification for the next round.

Furthermore, the AS FAR coach indicated that his team must still demonstrate more maturity in certain sectors of the game and seek greater efficiency to be able to face the big calibers of Africa.

Focusing on the next match which will pit the Military against Mamelodi Sundowns, Velud stressed that AS FAR will travel to play, win and finish at the top of the group.

For his part, the coach of Raja de Casablanca, Hafid Abdessadek, noted that the Greens were aiming for much more than this draw which, however, allows the Casablanca team to maintain hope of qualification.

“We didn’t start well, we made individual errors and left too many spaces exploited by the AS FAR,” he regretted.

He, however, welcomed the “awakening” of Raja Casablanca in the 2nd half, while noting that the Moroccan champions missed out on a victory.

In addition, Abdessadek announced that Raja will play the last match to win and end the group stage in style.
