Algiers reacts after the return to Paris of an Algerian influencer expelled to his country by France. Algeria rejected, Saturday January 11, the accusations “climbing” et “d’humiliation” of France and denounced a “disinformation campaign” against Algeria.“Algeria is in no way engaged in a logic of escalation, one-upmanship or humiliation”announced the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release. “The vengeful and hateful extreme right, as well as its certified heralds within the French government, are currently leading a campaign of disinformation, even mystification, against Algeria”he added.

A 59-year-old Algerian, nicknamed Doualemn, was arrested in (Hérault) after a video published on TikTok then put on a plane Thursday afternoon for Algeria, from where he was returned to France the same evening, Algeria having it “banned from territory”. “The national subject to expulsion has lived in France for thirty-six years. He has had a residence permit there for fifteen years. He is the father of two children born from his union with a French national. Finally, he is socially integrated to the extent that he has had a stable job for fifteen years”, justifies Algiers in its press release.

This episode aroused the anger of the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, who accused Algiers of seeking to “humiliate France”. Say Algiers “keep climbing”Paris will have to “retaliate”for his part warned the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, on Friday.
