A delegation of French senators visiting Dakhla

A delegation of French senators welcomed, Wednesday in Dakhla, the socio-economic achievements and the momentum of development experienced by the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region.

In a statement to the press, French Senator Max Brisson emphasized the close relations between the French Senate and the House of Councilors of Morocco, expressing his admiration for the all-out development momentum experienced the region, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.

“We have been informed of all the structuring projects that are taking shape in the region, particularly in the areas of renewable energies, tourism, fishing and agriculture,” he indicated. , expressing its desire to strengthen bilateral relations in said sectors.

For his part, the president of the Morocco- parliamentary friendship group in the House of Advisors, Mohamed Zidouh, stressed that this visit embodies the strong relations that unite the two countries, which were further strengthened, particularly after the visit of State of President Emmanuel Macron in Morocco, at the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

This visit to Dakhla, continued Mr. Zidouh, was an opportunity for the French senators to see first-hand the momentum of development that Dakhla-Oued Eddahab is experiencing and to learn about the structuring projects carried out or currently being implemented. work, including the new Dakhla Atlantique port and the seawater desalination station.

During this trip, members of the France-Morocco interparliamentary friendship group held meetings respectively with the wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, governor of the province of Oued Eddahab, Ali Khalil, the vice-president of the Regional Council, Moulay Boutal Lembarki, and the president of the Municipal Council of Dakhla, Erragheb Hormatallah, during which emphasis was placed on the development boom experienced by the region in different areas.

Likewise, the members of the delegation followed a presentation presented by the director of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Regional Investment Center, Mounir Houari in which he detailed, with supporting figures, the main economic drivers of the region which range from fishing to agriculture, tourism and renewable energy, as well as major infrastructure projects and investment opportunities.

In addition, they made field visits to several major projects in the region, including the Seawater Desalination Station and the construction site of the new port of Dakhla Atlantique.
