The order of races was reversed due to unfavorable weather for the race weekend on the Chuenisbärgli. The men’s slalom will take place on Saturday, before the giant on Sunday.
The weather is already playing spoilsport in Adelboden. The organizers therefore decided to modify the weekend calendar, scheduling the men’s slalom on Saturday and the giant on Sunday, the opposite of what had initially been planned. “Due to the weather forecast this weekend, the program for the Men’s World Cup in Adelboden has been adjusted to maximize the chances of having two races,” the FIS announced on Wednesday.
It is raining this week in most Swiss resorts and showers as well as potential showers are expected until Saturday in Adelboden. The weather should be drier from midday and the precipitation should stop well before Sunday.
Adelboden has often had to struggle with too mild temperatures or a lack of snow in the past. The Bernese Oberland resort, however, obtained the green light last week to host the traditional men’s events.
