The Casablanca Mohammed V airport extension project is finally entering a concrete phase after the resolution of the last land constraints. The Moroccan government gave the green light by adopting a decision dated December 13, 2024, allowing the expropriation of 910 hectares of land located in the commune of Nouaceur for the benefit of the National Airports Office (ONDA).

This vast project includes the construction of a third terminal as well as a new runway, bringing the airport to a scale that will place it among the largest in Africa, both in terms of surface area and quality of services. At the same time, the two existing terminals will undergo a complete redevelopment to align with the new standards.

With the end of planning studies and the removal of administrative obstacles, ONDA is preparing to launch several calls for tenders to start the work. This colossal project, planned to last four years, will transform Casablanca airport into a true regional hub.

This development marks a key step for Morocco, which thus strengthens its strategic position in terms of air connectivity, with infrastructure at the forefront of international expectations.
