Another music album dedicated to love. “Joli coeur”, a new album of 10 tracks, produced by the musical artist Salihou Jam. Released on December 15, this new “international opus dedicated entirely to love” was designed mainly under the influence of Afro, pop, soul, Rnb, dance hall and mbalax rhythms.

Pretty heart… This is the new album by the musician artist Salihou Mbacké Bousso, known under the stage name Salihou Jam, which was released on December 15. A few days ago, before the release party for the presentation of the album, Floriane Bousso, her manager, announced the color. “Chic, romantic and refined atmosphere…The entire decoration will be carried out according to the album “Jolie coeur” while respecting the soul that Salihou Jam gave to its songs and the artistic direction chosen for this project. As soon as you arrive, you will be propelled into the universe as you wander among the artistic creations of Salihou Jam,” we read in the album presentation document.

Preceded by two singles including “Amina yo”, a song which tells the story of love at first sight between an artist and a servant, and “Dayiman”, a song which also highlights a story of passionate love, the album “Joli coeur”, composed of 10 tracks, was also unveiled to the public. “It’s an international album about love in its entirety. This album was designed mainly under the influence of afro, pop, soul, Rnb, dancehall and mbalax rhythms. We also find traditional ethnic melodies of Senegalese music,” explains Salihou Jam.

In this opus, which marks a new stage in his career, both for its musical diversity and for his vocal approach, unlike his live performances, the artist has opted for a more calm interpretation. “On this album, I decided to sing with a calmer and less energetic voice than live, so that the public could identify with my songs,” he explains.

For this new project, he explores a different musical style, confirming his nickname of multivoice. “My multivoiced name is found in the diversity of my songs. And each song is unique, with its own genre and sounds. I chose to vary the musical genres so that everyone can identify with, at least, one song from the album,” he explains. Asked about his favorite musical genre, Salihou Jam is eclectic. “I love gospel, blues, jazz, funk, afrobeat… I can’t choose one particularly. I listen to a lot of different musical genres in order to always improve myself and open myself up to the world,” he said.

However, since his debut with the African Mystic Band, through The Voice Francophone Africa and his collaborations with Senegalese legends like Youssou Ndour, Wally Seck, Salihou Jam has established himself as an artist to follow. However, he believes that something was missing. “Musically, I think the album was missing. It’s done. And I want to show my fans who the real Salihou is,” he says.

Originally from Thiès, through this album, he not only delivers music, but he also offers a message of love and forgiveness. “I want to convey a message of love and forgiveness. As I often say, live is life and life is love. I think that love makes you move forward in life,” explains the artist who is planning a national tour. “I plan to do a national tour in 2025 in order to meet all the Senegalese, in all the cities, even those furthest from Dakar,” he announces.
