Since December 31, Radiodiffusion Télévision Sénégalaise (RTS) has been facing an internal crisis which is shaking all of its staff.
Indeed, Pape Alé Niang, the general director of RTS, would have taken the decision to suspend several agent and service provider contracts in Dakar as well as in certain regions, causing deep unease within the editorial staff, relays seneweb.

According to our colleagues, the heads of the radio station were responsible for communicating the suspension decision to the agents concerned, often at the very moment when some of them were preparing their elements. This situation has reinforced the incomprehension and frustration within the work teams, already prey to internal tensions.
Some agents, particularly those close to a permanent contract (CDI), find themselves in uncertainty, their files only having to be examined in June. An expectation that could disrupt their professional prospects, thus fueling a climate of general discontent. The measures taken by the management of the RTS, considered “abrupt” by certain trade unionists, only aggravate tensions within the editorial staff. These suspensions echo similar layoffs that occurred last June, accentuating the feeling of precariousness and instability among staff.
