Several equipment such as faucets, mirrors, and other accessories were stolen from these toilets, reports Hespress. The competent public prosecutor’s office ordered the opening of a judicial investigation to identify the perpetrators of this criminal act.

This act of vandalism aroused the indignation of citizens and city authorities. Many Internet users have expressed on social networks their dissatisfaction with this situation which, according to them, does not honor the inhabitants of the Moulay Rachid district.

Acts of vandalism and theft targeting public property harm Casablanca residents and constitute an attack on the public domain, fumes with anger Moulay Ahmed Afilal, vice-president of the Casablanca municipal council, announcing the implementation of repressive measures to put an end to these behaviors and preserve these infrastructures.

The municipality of Casablanca had approved the construction of 60 public toilets in order to compensate for the glaring lack of this infrastructure. Some have already been installed in the city center and in strategic areas.
