Gigabyte announces new QD-OLED gaming monitor with 500Hz refresh rate

Gigabyte revealed two new QD-OLED gaming monitors two new QD-OLED gaming monitors ahead of CES 2025: the Aorus FO27Q5P and MO27U2. Although both displays are designed for gaming, their specifications target them to different users.

Gigabyte suggests that the Aorus FO27Q5P is designed for professional esports gamers or those who play FPS games. The monitor features a 26.5-inch QD-OLED panel with a 500Hz refresh rate; This is believed to be the same 1440p resolution panel used in the Samsung Odyssey G60SF. The Aorus monitor is also equipped with DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 technology for bandwidth up to 80 Gbps. The company hopes that this display will get the recently announced ClearMR 21000 certification. The first display to achieve ClearMR 21000 certification is the LG 27GX790A model ($906.49 currently on Amazon). The FO27Q5P is also expected to be VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified.

The Gigabyte MO27U2 is designed for hybrid gamers who also want to work on creative projects or stream content. So far we know that this display offers 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 px) with a pixel density of 166 PPI. On top of that, it is said to have delta E≤2 color accuracy and is also validated by Pantone.

Other features of the FO27Q5P and MO27U2 are AI-based OLED Care technology to prevent burn-in and Tactical Switch 2.0 that lets you quickly switch between resolutions and screen ratios. It is not yet known when the Gigabyte AORUS FO27Q5P and Gigabyte MO27U2 monitors will be released, or at what price.
