THE fifty (50) first banks in WAMU concentrate 75.78% of customer bank deposits representing an estimated value of 34,144.20 billion FCFA in 2023 compared to 33,296.62 billion for the year 2022, an increase of 2.55%.
Société Générale Côte d’Ivoire with 2715.30 billion in 2023 compared to 2685.32 billion in 2022, displays a share of 7.95% of deposits collected, and thus retains first place. Coris Bank International gains one place, moving to second place with 1,454.15 billion deposits in 2023, compared to 1,348.26 billion in 2022, or 4.26% market share.

Ecobank Côte d’Ivoire positioning itself in third place in 2023 compared to sixth in 2022. It has deposits valued at 1,451.16 billion FCFA, or 4.25% of the overall portfolio compared to 1,269.60 billion FCFA in 2022.

The dynamism of the Ivorian market is also noted in the collection of customer deposits, with four (04) banks which are positioned respectively in fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh places in the TOP 10: NSIA Banque Côte d’Ivoire (1,415.89 billion ; 4.15%); Banque Atlantique Côte d’Ivoire (1,412.95 billion; 4.14%); National Investment Bank (1,358.93 billion; 3.98%); Société Ivoirienne de Banque (1294.41 billion; 3.79%).

Two Senegalese banks have also shown their capacity to mobilize on the customer deposit market in 2023: CBAO, Attijariwafa bank Group (8th place) which capitalizes a volume of 1217.19 billion for a market share estimated at 3.56% and Société Générale Sénégal (9th) with 1113.50 billion FCFA from the WAMU portfolio, or a proportion of 3.26%.
The Development Bank of Mali (935.61 billion) brings up the rear of the TOP 10 with a share of 2.74% of deposits collected in 2023.

In terms of deposit mobilization, the predominance of Ivorian banks in the TOP 50 ranking is confirmed, when we analyze the number of distinctions by banking center with fourteen (14) distinctions; Senegal finds itself with thirteen (13) banks, Burkina Faso (09), Mali (05), Benin (05), Togo (03) and Niger (01).
