A brawl broke out between two groups on Friday January 17, 2025 a little before 7 p.m. in Niort, in the shopping arcade of the Carrefour hypermarket in the Clou-Bouchet district: it would have continued on the inclined ramps and the parking lot, near from the gas station in particular.
When requested, the firefighters took care of two people, one of the accused and a passerby who had nothing to do with the fight: the duo was transported to the hospital center of the prefecture city of Deux- Sevres. The injured were only slightly injured, the collateral victim having been hit in the head.
At the start, a stampede
National police officers came: according to a witness, they noted several identities. An hour after the incident, the presence of the police was not visible. When asked, the duty magistrate at the Niort public prosecutor's office, the substitute placed Anne Laparra, was not yet able to provide precise information about this brawl.
-At least two sources reported that a stampede was the spark that ignited the riots in or in front of a grocery store. A mobile phone theft is also mentioned. Cricket bats were allegedly used as weapons by destination.
