Jets looking for fourth straight victory
Forwards Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele are two of the NHL’s hottest players, and they will try to help the Winnipeg Jets post a fourth straight victory when they host the Nashville Predators at Canada Life Center (19 p.m. ET; Prime, FDSNSO).
Connor has 13 points (six goals, seven assists) during a six-game point streak, while Scheifele has 10 points (six goals, four assists) in his last five games. He has scored 10 goals since the start of December.
The Jets (26-10-1) also got a big boost with the recent return of forward Nikolaj Ehlers after missing nine games with a lower-body injury. He has five points (two goals, three assists) in four games since his return.
The Predators (11-18-7) will want to get more from forward Filip Forsberg, who went 14 games without scoring a goal after setting a career high with 48 goals last season.
They hope veteran Vinnie Hinostroza, recalled from the American Hockey League (AHL) on Saturday, can provide a spark on offense. At the time of his recall, the 30-year-old was the AHL leader with 33 points (11 goals, 22 assists) in 26 games.
