The Presidency of the Government announced, this Saturday, on its official Facebook page, the terms of the social amnesty relating to the cancellation of late penalties on contributions to social security schemes and the compensation scheme for damages linked to work accidents and occupational diseases.
This measure, provided for by Decree No. 503 of 2024 published last October, allows total or partial cancellation of late payment penalties automatically, under certain conditions. It will be in effect until March 31, 2025.
Debtors with the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) can benefit from this amnesty by paying the entire principal amount of the debt and prosecution costs. This payment can be made in one go or by installments according to a schedule agreed with the CNSS, provided that the entire amount is paid before March 31, 2025.
For employees in the agricultural and non-agricultural sectors, total cancellation of late payment penalties is possible provided that the principal amount of the debt and the prosecution costs are fully repaid within a maximum period of 36 months from the signing of the contract. agreement with the CNSS. A partial reduction of penalties, up to 75%, is also possible if the debt is settled within a maximum period of 48 months. A 50% reduction in penalties may be granted as part of full repayment over a period not exceeding 60 months.
Self-employed workers, whether they work in the agricultural or non-agricultural sectors, can also benefit from the total cancellation of late payment penalties. This cancellation is conditional on full repayment of the principal amount of the debt and prosecution costs, over a maximum period of 60 months. In this case, each monthly payment must be at least equivalent to the amount of the monthly contribution.
This initiative aims to relieve members in financial difficulty while promoting the regularization of social security contributions. It is part of an overall government strategy to strengthen social protection and support economic actors.
The people concerned are invited to contact the CNSS services in order to establish a reimbursement plan and take advantage of the advantages of this amnesty before the deadline set for March 31, 2025.
