Exceptional permanence of the services of the General Treasury of the Kingdom on December 28 and 29, 2024

As the deadline of December 31, 2024 approaches, the General Treasury of the Kingdom (TGR) announced the establishment of a special office within its various accounting positions. This measure concerns regional, prefectural and provincial treasuries as well as collections, which will remain open during the days of Saturday December 28 and Sunday December 29, 2024.

The main objective of this initiative is to enable citizens, businesses, and public administrations to carry out their financial and tax procedures under the best conditions, despite the intensity of the end-of-year period.

Services available during duty

Payment of taxes
Taxpayers will be able to take advantage of these two days to fulfill their tax obligations, whether taxes owed to the State and local authorities. This includes rights relating to income tax (IR), corporate tax (IS) and value added tax (VAT).

Regularization of payment incidents
Another priority put forward by the TGR concerns the settlement of fines linked to payment incidents, particularly for rejected checks. Under article 8 bis of the 2024 finance law, a final contribution is provided to allow offenders to regularize their situation by paying a fixed percentage, in order to avoid additional prosecution.

Public expenditure management
Public administrations and local authorities will also be able to benefit from this permanence to submit and process their expenditure files. This aims to ensure smooth and timely execution of the state’s budgetary commitments before the close of the fiscal year.

An initiative to strengthen administrative fluidity

By establishing this exceptional permanence, the TGR responds to a double imperative: to facilitate compliance with tax and administrative deadlines for users, while ensuring the continuity of public services. This reflects a desire to support citizens and businesses in a context often marked by a heavy administrative burden at the end of the year.

The TGR calls on taxpayers and partners concerned to seize this opportunity to avoid any delay or overload of services during the last days of December.

Practical information

The exact opening hours as well as the precise terms of the services offered can be consulted on the official website of the General Treasury of the Kingdom (www.tgr.gov.ma). For any questions, it is also possible to contact the offices concerned directly.

In summary, this initiative is part of a more global framework of modernization and simplification of administrative and tax procedures in Morocco. By facilitating access to its services at a critical time, the TGR intends to respond to the growing needs of citizens and businesses, while strengthening its role as an essential lever of public management.
