When lawyers arrive at the office in the morning, they are never quite sure what their day will look like. In their profession, there are many surprises and twists and turns, and they must be prepared for any eventuality. Léo, André, Kim, Mélodie and Me Danielle Alain (Sébastien Delorme, Michel Laperrière, Julie Trépanier, Naïla Louidort and Maxim Roy), the new lawyer, adapt easily. However, fear should not be part of their daily life. However, the end of the fall season and the beginning of the winter season hold many dangers for the characters. “On return, the action resumes directly, as is always the case. Barely a few seconds have passed since the fall event, which is far from banal,” announces Izabel Chevrier, the main author and producer of the series. This event is the hostage taking orchestrated by Marc Fichaud (Hugo Dubé), the special constable whom we have seen on several occasions lose patience and become violent. Day by day, his problems seemed to take on more and more space and, during the last episode before the holidays, the man lost touch with reality by using his service weapon to fire shots…
VICTIMS?
Fichaud’s primary target seemed to be Jeffrey Blondin (Anthony Therrien), except that with an armed man who is no longer thinking clearly, anything can happen. Some will try to reason with him, without success. Fichaud has nothing left to lose, and these types of individuals are often the most dangerous. What will happen to all those who did not have time to escape and who are still in the courtroom? How many of them will lose their lives? And who? The hostage situation will quickly make the rounds in the media, reaching the ears of André, Kim, Maxime (Mathieu Baron) and Sara (Catherine Renaud). They will all go to the courthouse, waiting anxiously to hear from Léo and Danielle. Detective Sergeant Maryse St-Gelais (Marilou Morin) is in charge of the hostage-taking case. Faced with the seriousness of the situation, she calls on the tactical squad, which must deploy its personnel effectively to avoid a bloodbath. This drama is out of the ordinary, and she has a lot on her shoulders. She also doesn’t want to deal with Max’s anxiety, who is holding back with both hands from jumping into the fray.
MELODIE AND LEO IN DANGER
Mélodie, the young intern at the Lapointe-Macdonald-Nolin firm, will also be afraid at the start of winter. We now know that his father is involved in shady affairs and that he is the person of interest that Maxime was monitoring. This means that she must stay away from the office, at least until a decision is made about her father, and we know with certainty his level of involvement and his links with the bikers. . Mélodie doesn’t know it, but her family ties will put her in danger. Maxime and Claude (Nathalie Madore) are worried about her, and they are right… Even if the repercussions of the events of the fall are still being felt, the lawyers must pull themselves together, since the work cannot wait. “The trial of Jeffrey Blondin begins in January and marks a turning point. Then, worrying events will occur throughout the winter. These are anonymous threats, made indirectly. Léo is targeted, and he will live a lawyer’s worst nightmare: he will constantly feel in danger without knowing why,” reveals Izabel Chevrier. The incidents will start slowly, then become so serious that the police, alerted, will open an investigation. Max’s personal life will also take an unexpected turn.
Before the holidays, he and Kim crossed the friendship line and are no longer just roommates. What kind of relationship will they have? Kim will surprise Max by telling him about her expectations…
THE TRIALS
Other cases that will receive attention after the holidays include those of a chaplain accused of drug trafficking. It is Kim who will take care of this file, and she will take a liking to this man whom everyone appreciates. It will also be about sharing intimate images, death threats made on social networks and the rest of the story of Florence Leduc (Isabelle Giroux). During the trials, we will find the Crown prosecutors, Me Janson, Me Cadet and Marie-Anne (Éric Paulhus, Marilyse Bourke and Anne-Élisabeth Bossé). The latter and Léo have buried the hatchet, and although they are in opposing camps, the competition between them will be more healthy and civilized.
Monday to Thursday 7 p.m. on TVA, from January 6.
