Raymond Okoh, a Nigerian consultant established in the Marists district of Dakar, was arrested by sleuths from the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS). He was trapped then arrested, and various stocks of cocaine were discovered during the search of his apartment.
In the peaceful Dakar neighborhood of the Marists, the immediate neighbors of the Nigerian national, Raymond Okoh, remained speechless as they saw him being loaded into a police vehicle, handcuffs tightly around his wrists. The neighbors’ astonishment is mainly explained by the good impression they had of the accused. Here, within his restricted circle of acquaintances, Raymond Okoh was considered an eminent consultant, graduated from international reference institutes.

However, behind this brilliant hat, the Nigerian wore, with the greatest discretion, a completely different hat: that of a hard drug trafficker. A criminal activity which ended up throwing him into the salad basket of the sleuths of the OCRTIS operational division.
The descent into hell of the Nigerian consultant was recorded on December 24, 2024. That day, it was around 11:30 p.m. when an OCRTIS surveillance and arrest system set its sights on their main target of the day, Raymond Okay. The Nigerian boss, although known to be very alert, was fooled like a novice by the police.

According to corroborating sources cited by L’Observateur, it all started with information provided by shadowy OCRTIS agents. In their notes, the plainclothes sleuths had noted: “dense trafficking in hard drugs run by the Marists by a Nigerian national”.
The premises were discreetly monitored by a mousetrap set up. After obtaining a clear idea of the target’s activities and other suspicious connections, OCRTIS agents decided to infiltrate the consultant kingpin’s HQ. The mission was entrusted to a “hare” who, experienced in this type of exercise, managed to make contact with Raymond Okoh. Posing as a potential customer, the infiltrator placed an initial trust order for 2 grams of cocaine purchased for 50,000 FCFA.

It was when the transaction was concluded at the Maristes roundabout that the elements of the system intervened. Raymond Okoh was thus arrested. Married with three children, Okoh was then taken to his home by police. On site, the search led to the discovery of another 26 grams of cocaine, as well as 20 grams of an as yet unidentified substance. In addition, the police seized an electronic scale, a batch of money transfer invoices and the sum of 450,000 FCFA.
The next day, December 25, OCRTIS elements carried out a second search in Okoh’s luxurious apartment in Maristes. This time, the operation resulted in the discovery of a “loaf of cocaine” weighing 1 kg, as well as a sachet containing the same prohibited substance, for a total weight of 1.1 kg. According to L’Observateur, these new discoveries have worsened the situation of the native of Lagos, where he was born in November 1982. At the end of his legal detention, Raymond Okoh was presented to the public prosecutor at the Dakar high court. . The investigation is ongoing in order to identify and arrest any other person suspected of being involved in this trafficking network.
