The year 2024 will be marked in Kolda, like the country, by political, social and cultural events. In this dynamic, men left their mark with their position at a time when other leaders were rushing towards the presidential movement. They are Moussa Baldé (PCD/Apr), Abdoulaye Bibi Baldé (ex Apr/DG), Mamadou Salif Sow (Peps), Fabouly Gaye (jog jotna movement), Bamol Baldé (BBY) and 'Aissatou Tipa Diallo (bby) who chose to remain in the opposition. And they decided to stay there at a time when certain leaders chose to support the presidential movement. Moreover, the recent legislative elections are very illustrative of this situation. Thus, the mayor of Kolda Mame Boye Diao and Abdourahmane Baldé known as Doura from the Kolda Standing movement decided to support Pastef for the legislative elections in November 2024.
It is with this observation that Fabouly Gaye and Aïssatou Tipa Diallo chose to fight in opposition by announcing it during a press briefing. With this declaration, they surprised more than one in Fouladou and at the national level, at a time when the transhumance towards Pastef is at its peak. Moreover, Moussa Baldé, Abdoulaye Bibi Baldé and Mamadou Salif Sow as local political leaders remained in the opposition.
As for Abdoulaye Bibi Baldé, despite his resignation from the APR before the legislative elections, he has not joined any political party or given voting instructions.
For Mamadou Salif Sow and Moussa Baldé, both unsuccessful candidates for deputy also remained in the same dynamic.
In his recent speech, Bamol Baldé maintains that he remains in opposition with Macky Sall. At the same time, he clarified that his dignity did not allow him to leave the Bby ship with the array of achievements under the era of President Macky Sall.
This is why we can say that the latter remained constant in the opposition to Kolda.
