Tensions in the Middle East – The United States strikes Houthi targets in the Yemeni capital Sanaa

The United States has set up a multinational naval coalition in the region in response to attacks carried out for months off Yemen by Houthi rebels, who are disrupting traffic in the Red Sea and in the Gulf of Aden, a maritime zone essential for global trade.

These attacks have prompted Washington to strike rebel targets in Yemen, sometimes with help from the United Kingdom.
