In Palaiseau, in Essonne, three men entered a home where the occupant of the home was located during the night from Friday to Saturday after breaking down the door, according to the Evry Public Prosecutor's Office. These men are employees of a business manager who recently purchased the accommodation where the scene took place, said a police source.
This boss had gone to the pavilion the day before in the afternoon to ask the son of the former owners to leave the premises he was illegally occupying, said the same source. During the evening, the business manager organized a meal in his company's offices, after which three of his employees, in a drunken state, took the initiative to forcibly exfiltrate the squatter.
They went to the scene by car, broke the front door and broke down the door to the occupant's bedroom, located on the first floor, before hitting him while he was sleeping, slightly injuring him. The latter then grabbed a standard saber and struck two of his attackers in the abdomen.
The first died on the spot, the second, seriously injured, managed to escape with difficulty, while the third, unhurt, managed to escape and called the police. When they arrived on the scene, agents from the Anti-Crime Brigade noted the death of one of the attackers.
The seriously injured man was taken care of by firefighters and transported, in a coma, to the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital (Val-de-Marne). His vital prognosis is in jeopardy, said a second police source. The attacker, who was not injured, and the occupant of the accommodation were placed in police custody, the Public Prosecutor's Office said. They are both in their forties.
According to the second police source, the business manager was also taken into custody. The Public Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation into intentional homicide, attempted intentional homicide and aggravated violence, entrusted to the Territorial Crime Division of the Essonne police.
“Investigations are underway to clarify the course of events and the intentions of the various protagonists,” added the Public Prosecutor's Office, which specifies that an autopsy of the deceased victim will be quickly carried out. The investigation will have to determine in particular whether there was premeditation on the part of the three attackers and whether the occupant of the accommodation can claim self-defense, indicated the second police source.
