To compensate for the significant shortage of personnel in the health field, the Council of State wants to work harder to increase the number of people training in care. This Friday, he is putting a preliminary draft law to this effect for consultation, indicates the canton in a press release.
The project provides concrete annual objectives: 150 HES graduates, 25 ES graduates, 109 CFC graduates and 64 with federal professional training certificate (AFP). These proposals come from an analysis by the Swiss Health Observatory, which highlights the urgent needs of the sector.
To do this, healthcare institutions will be encouraged, through financial compensation, to offer more practical internships. 300 francs per week for HES and ES training, and 100 francs for ASSC CFC and ASA AFP apprentices. In the event of non-compliance with training objectives, sanctions could be put in place.
The canton will also financially support Friborg students, whether they are registered at the Friborg High School of Health or in other establishments in Switzerland. An average grant of 25,000 francs per year would be allocated, thus facilitating access to these training courses.
Three cantonal departments (Training, Economy and Health) are working together to make this reform a reality. It is part of the federal initiative which aims to meet the growing needs for healthcare personnel, by targeting initial, higher and tertiary training.
