A police press release published Wednesday morning reports a tragedy that occurred in Lavaux. Tuesday, December 17, in the evening, a 10-year-old boy died in the town of Forel after being the victim of an accident with a bus.
Around 8:10 p.m., the police headquarters was alerted that a serious accident had just occurred. According to the first elements of the investigation, the driver of a scheduled bus coming from Servion, a 65-year-old Italian, initiated a left turn with the aim of making a U-turn in a space provided for this purpose. He then allegedly knocked the young boy down.
Despite the care provided, and the intervention of numerous emergency services including an ambulance, a REGA helicopter, several SPSL firefighters as well as ESU personnel, the victim died on the spot.
The duty prosecutor went to the scene and opened an investigation.
