The star of Chris Columbus’ film told an anecdote about working on set with the experienced actor.
We are in the season of Home Alone and Macaulay Culkin, for the occasion, has decided to leave in tour around the United States with the event entitled ‘A Nostalgic Night With Macaulay Culkin’.
The event includes the screening of Home Alone and a Q&A with the audience. Guest at the cinema in Rosemont, Illinois, Culkin revealed that Joe Pesci actually bit his finger during one of the rehearsals.
A threat to the McCallisters
“He was trying to scare me” Culkin explained “He said something like he wanted to be threatening to this kid.”. One of the most notable scenes is when Harry (Pisces) threatens to bite Kevin’s fingers.
Pesci didn’t pretend at all and bit Culkin’s finger: “I have a scar. At that moment, I saw his face and I had never seen Joe Pesci so scared, because he looked like he thought he had just bitten a child.”
A mother figure for Mac
A completely different situation with Catherine O’Hara, who played the Kevin’s forgetful mother. Macaulay Culkin said that he remained in contact with her and that when they meet again today they still call each other ‘mother’ and ‘son’.
Macaulay Culkin received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Catherine O’Hara, host of the event, praised Culkin’s performance in the film, which made acting seem like ‘the most natural thing in the world’. Since becoming a father, Macaulay Culkin has confessed that he has changed the way he watches Chris Columbus’ film with his children.
