This agreement concerns nearly a quarter of those responsible for family educational childcare services (RSGE), or around 3,000 workers. It follows another agreement concluded a few days ago by the government with the Federation of Early Childhood Workers of Quebec (FIPEQ-CSQ) — which brings together nearly 9,000 RSGEs.

With these two signatures, “the government has now concluded agreements in principle with 99% of [RSGE] with whom he is negotiating,” it is specified in the press release sent by the office of the Minister responsible for Government Administration and President of the Treasury Board, Sonia LeBel.

Lasting five years (2023-2028), this new agreement with the FSSS-CSN will increase the number of places, encourage the care of babies under 18 months, and improve the The attraction and retention of those responsible for an educational childcare service in a family environment is also mentioned.

The agreement will be presented to the unions during a federal RSGE council meeting on December 20.

“Until then, the details of the agreement will remain confidential and no comments will be made,” it is indicated in the press release issued by the FSSS-CSN on this subject.

“We will not make any comments until the members decide,” the minister also underlined in a message published on X.
