In the context of the Ndiaga Diouf case, a new development has been confirmed. Me Pape Mor Niang, lawyer for the family of the late Ndiaga Diouf, declared to the newspaper Les Échos that he had received a check for 25 million CFA francs sent by Barthélémy Dias’ lawyers but announced a surprising fact.
This sum corresponds to the damages that the mayor of Dakar was ordered to pay in this case. “It’s true that I received the check, but I haven’t discussed it with the family yet. It must be said that it is a check that I have not yet deposited to know its solvency,” the lawyer clarified, adding a dose of caution regarding the rest of the process.

As a reminder, this case dates back to 2011, when Ndiaga Diouf, security agent, was killed during clashes in front of the town hall of Mermoz-Sacré-Cœur. The Supreme Court confirmed in 2022 the conviction of Barthélémy Dias to two years in prison, including six months, while ordering him to pay these 25 million CFA francs to the victim’s family.
The family, which had recently requested the application of physical restraint to obtain this amount, could soon decide on this check.
