Mohamed Kraïmi offers Hespress its first GPNP in the “Photography” category

A new recognition came, this Friday, to enrich Hespress’s large list of prizes, but this time in the “Photography” category, through Mohamed Kraïmi, coordinator of the video section of the editorial team, who won the Grand Prix National Press 2024, Photo.

This prize was awarded to Kraïmi for a photograph published on the English version of Hespress. Taken in Casablanca, it represents an Orthodox Jew wearing a sign on his chest with the inscription: “The Jew is not a Zionist.”

This photo, illustrating his unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and his opposition to Zionism, was praised for its impact and depth, generating wide recognition within Moroccan society.

Very proud of this distinction, Mohamed Kraïmi, who wore a Palestinian keffiyeh as a sign of solidarity, wanted to thank the general director of the Hespress Group, Hassane El Guennouni, and the publishing director, Mohamed Amine El Guennouni, for their constant support.

The lucky winner also wanted to share this “high moment in a still young career”, with his friends, colleagues, but also his mother.

“The winning photo embodies the importance of the Palestinian cause, a fight that all Moroccans carry within them. This image not only represents this cause, it is the cause that gives this photograph all its strength.he said.

Furthermore, the honorary prize, which pays tribute to a personality from the world of media who contributed to the evolution of the national media landscape and the consecration of the noble principles of the profession, was awarded to journalists Mustapha Alaoui and Latifa Marouane.

Concerning the honorary prize awarded to Moroccan journalists working in foreign media outlets, in Morocco or abroad, it was awarded to correspondent journalists Fadwa Mrabti of the “Al Ghad” channel in Morocco, and Adel Zobairi of the “Al Ghad” channel in Morocco, Al Arabiya” in Morocco.

The television prize was won jointly by journalists Jamaâ Goulahsen from the 2M television channel for his work entitled “Leaving or Building”, and Abdelhamid Jabrane from the “Al Aoula” channel for his work “The Kingdom of Energies renewable”.

Regarding the radio prize, it was won by journalist Amine Lamrani from National Radio for his report “Autistic children: suffering in silence”.

In the written press category, the prize was awarded to journalist Hamza Lamtioui Amnzou of the newspaper “Assahifa” for his article entitled “The Algerian petrodollar: Algeria spends billions to gain influence from Washington in order to divide the Morocco “.

Regarding the electronic press category, this edition’s prize was won by journalist Mounia Senhaji from the electronic site “Lematin.ma”, for her article entitled “Legalization of Cannabis: Three years later, from clairvoyants to green but watch out for delays.”

In the agency press category, the prize went jointly to journalists Meriem Rkiouak and Imane Brougi of the Agence Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP). Meriem Rkiouak won the prize for her article “Feminine writing: a lot of potential and little visibility”, while Imane Brougi was recognized for her article “Breast cancer in young women: a fight for life at the prime of life.

Regarding the regional press prize, it was awarded jointly to journalists Khadija Bennaji of the newspaper “Sada Taounate” for her article on suicide in Taounat, and Mbarek Kziz of the electronic site “Hounasahara.net” for his article on desertification and agricultural activity in Foum El Oued.

The prize for Amazigh journalistic production was won by journalist Nadia Hsissou from the Amazigh channel for her work on Amghar.

As for the prize for journalistic production on Saharawi Hassani culture and space, it was awarded to journalist Hafid Mahdar of the Laâyoune channel for his report on the camel race.

Regarding the prize for investigative journalism, the jury decided to award it to journalist Salma Chatt from the electronic site “Thevoice.ma” for her report on the detention of Moroccans in Myanmar.

The photography prize was awarded to journalist photographer Mohamed Kraïmi of the electronic site “Hespress” for his photo report entitled “Orthodox Jewish man finds community in Morocco while supporting Palestine”.

On this occasion, the president of the jury of the 22nd edition of the Grand Prix national de la presse, Aziz Boucetta, underlined that this edition was marked by a notable increase in the participation rate of women with 40 pc of the total against nearly 30 pc during the previous edition, noting that the strong presence of female journalists concerned the different genres and journalist categories of the prize.

He added that the results of this edition recorded for the first time perfect parity between female and male journalists, noting that this is an indicator reflecting the successes achieved by Moroccan journalists and a recognition of their great contribution to the enrichment of the national media scene.
