(Montreal) A conflict surrounding the towing of a vehicle during a snow loading operation degenerated to the point where a shot was fired in Montreal, Tuesday evening, in the Pointe-aux-Trembles district. No one was injured by the projectile, but one man was arrested.

The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. on Forsyth Street, near the intersection with Tercentenaire Boulevard. It involved three people on the sidelines of a tow related to snow removal.
“The suspect allegedly fired at least one shot in the direction of the victims,” said agent Antony Dorélas, who is spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM), Wednesday morning.
The two victims were not hit by the projectile. A 19-year-old young man was still treated by first responders for nervous shock.
For their part, the police arrested a 39-year-old man at the scene. This would be the owner of the vehicle that was going to be towed to allow snow removal. He will be met by investigators from the Montreal police force.
“He could face charges of assault with a weapon and discharging a firearm,” said Officer Dorélas.
The SPVM has set up a security perimeter and is continuing its investigation into this matter.
