OpenAI arrives in Switzerland. On Wednesday morning, the publisher of ChatGPT announced the opening of an office in Zurich. The Californian company thus establishes a first point of presence in the country, by poaching three star engineers from its competitor Google. This announcement shows the importance of Zurich’s digital ecosystem and its ability to attract multinationals.
In detail, OpenAI managed to take from Google, and more specifically from its subsidiary DeepMind, specialized in artificial intelligence (AI), three renowned engineers: Lucas Beyer, Alexander Kolesnikov and Xiaohua Zhai. They are experts in computer vision and machine learning, key areas of AI.
