When it comes to health and well-being, fashions and approaches follow one another and are not the same. The new addition is called the “Glucose Method” and was initiated by Jessie Inchauspé, a French biochemist based in the United States who focuses her work around the regulation of blood sugar peaks. A subject to which she has devoted two works: in 2022, “The Glucose Revolution»and in 2023, “The Glucose Goddess Method».

According to the scientist followed by more than 5 million followers on Instagram, symptoms such as fatigue, irritability, food cravings or even premature aging could be due to sudden variations in blood sugar levels. To overcome this, it has implemented a practical method to revolutionize blood sugar levels in the space of four weeks. A program that is structured around five key stages.

First, eat foods in a specific order starting each meal with fiber, then proteins, fats and finally carbohydrates and sugars. Second recommendation, favor a savory breakfast in order to stabilize blood sugar levels with eggs or cheese for example. Then, the biochemist advises drinking a spoonful of vinegar before meals in order to limit blood sugar peaks and improve insulin sensitivity. Fourth point of this program, move after each meal by walking for at least ten minutes, which would be enough to mobilize the muscles and prevent sugar from remaining in the blood for too long. Finally, it would be advisable to opt for salty snacks between meals, such as cheese or nuts.

In this way, variations in blood sugar levels would be smoothed out, allowing for better daily energy management, fewer bouts of fatigue and cravings, radiant skin, better sleep and a regular mood. According to Jessie Inchauspé, this method would also protect against serious illnesses such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

But if the Glucose method has fans, the scientific world does not fully adhere to its vision. This is the case of François Jornayvaz, endocrinologist at the University Hospitals of Geneva, who criticizes the lack of rigor of his colleague or even of Boris Hansel, French endocrinologist, who rightly specifies that the health benefits of fiber consumption , limiting fast sugars and physical exercise have been known for a long time.

Criticisms which, however, do not alter the effectiveness of this method which owes its success to the simple solutions it offers to have a healthy lifestyle without depriving yourself and while better understanding the functioning of your body.
