The young man, aged 19, was already known to the police for similar acts.
This Wednesday, November 27, in Marseille, a police officer was dragged about fifteen meters by a man on a scooter refusing to comply.
The driver, a 19-year-old young man already known to the police, was under the influence of drugs when he was arrested, Actu17 reported.
The events took place around 5 p.m. this Wednesday. The man was traveling in a bus corridor with an uninsured scooter. The Specialized Field Brigade (BST) crew decided to check the driver, but he refused to stop and accelerated. Almost hitting pedestrians, the young man got on the sidewalk and fled in the wrong direction.
The police finally managed to catch him, a few hundred meters further. One of the officers got out of his vehicle and ordered the suspect to stop grabbing his arm. The suspect restarted his vehicle and dragged the officer, before falling to the ground. He was finally able to be arrested.
Injured, the agent was taken to hospital and was given 3 days of total incapacity for work (ITT).
Heard this Friday, the suspect finally received a 4 month prison sentence. A warrant of committal was also issued against him.
