Catastrophic end of regime for Trudeau

Catastrophic end of regime for Trudeau

Justin Trudeau has just started his 10e year in power and it is worse today than at any time since his arrival in 2015. Botched programs, lack of vision and plan to confront Donald Trump: we are all paying the price for his improvisation and of his incompetence.

Forced by the Bloc and the NDP, Trudeau even had to abandon his promise to send $250 checks because he had forgotten seniors in his electoral project.

Trudeau promises to come back with a new plan that will include seniors, but when and with what money? Trudeau has accumulated more debt than all the other prime ministers in Canadian history combined!

This plan, for checks for $250, only dates from last week! And it’s already in the workshop for repairs!

In Ottawa this week, several sources confirmed to me that the plan was concocted by members of Trudeau’s political staff as a communications strategy.

Great program!

All they managed to communicate was their ineptitude!

Trudeau loses major support

The only electorate that still likes Trudeau a little is the seniors. The Conservatives, 20 points ahead in the polls, managed to attract the younger voters who were Trudeau’s political base. They know that because of him, they will have fewer opportunities to own their own home than their parents. These young voters are angry with him.

The same goes for many cultural communities traditionally loyal to the federal Liberals. They have also begun to express their support for Poilievre who is constantly increasing his meetings with them.

Without these communities, Trudeau will lose a large number of seats in his main Toronto-area riding.

Not ready for Trump 2.0

During the American election campaign, liberal spokesmen never ceased to reassure us: they were ready!

As soon as Trump won, same song: we are ready for Trump, we know him!

Last night, Prime Minister Trudeau agreed to hold a virtual meeting with his provincial and territorial counterparts. François Legault grumbled as he left. He explained to the media that he had requested a detailed plan to respond to Trump’s demands regarding the border. Legault was obviously disappointed, but probably not surprised.

Trudeau was so unprepared that he didn’t even meet the media afterwards. Instead, he sent Chrystia Freeland and Dominic LeBlanc with a senior RCMP officer and it was obvious that Legault was right: they didn’t have a plan.

Worst time for incompetence

Although we criticize Trump reflexively in Canada, he is not full-time crazy. His request for increased surveillance of our border with the United States is consistent with requests from Quebec for years.

It is in the common interest of all provinces and territories, and their economies, to find a structured way of working with the new American administration.

Unfortunately, Justin Trudeau is simply not up to the task.
