Jean-Luc Dorier appointed for the second time to the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction

Professor of mathematics teaching at the Educational Sciences Section of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (FPSE) and at the University Institute for Teaching Training (IUFE), Jean-Luc Dorier has was elected for the second time secretary general of the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI).

After a doctorate in mathematics at the Joseph Fourier University ( 1), Jean-Luc Dorier continued his career within the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the Pierre Mendès University (Grenoble 2), then at the University Institute training for teachers at the academy. He joined the University of Geneva in 2006.

Founded in 1908, ICMI aims to promote thinking, collaboration, exchange and dissemination of ideas on the teaching and learning of mathematics, from primary to university level.
