This day will take place like every year on Sunday December 1st.
Every year, December 1st is the occasion for a global mobilization against AIDS, where information, prevention and awareness actions are carried out. This day is also one of memory and remembrance in honor of those who have died from the disease.
This year, the theme chosen by UNAIDS is “The world can end AIDS if everyone’s rights are protected.” For UNAIDS: “The substantial progress made in the fight against HIV is directly linked to the progress made in protecting human rights. Now a surge in attacks on rights threatens to undermine the progress made and the gaps in the realization of human rights for all prevent the world from embarking on the path to eradicating AIDS and harm public health.”
To mark this day, RelaisHIV is organizing various actions. While on Tuesday, the Foch high school organized an awareness day, it is at the IUT, today from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., that an awareness day is offered. With the program, the possibility of taking a screening test for HIV and hepatitis B and C.
For its part, the Sida Rodez collective is also offering today from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday at the Denys-Puech museum, to discover the fresco around HIV: “l’Artère”. A work by Fabrice Hyber which traces the history of HIV.
Finally, on Saturday, from 8 p.m., the association will hold a prevention stand at the Club, during the queerbaret organized by the Alertes association. You will find documentation, condoms, red ribbons… The opportunity to raise awareness about this disease.
