A trilateral summit took place this Wednesday in Athens, bringing together Greece, Jordan and the Greek Cypriot administration of southern Cyprus. This meeting, relayed by the Greek authorities, saw the participation of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, King Abdullah II of Jordan and Nicos Christodoulides, leader of the Greek Cypriot administration of southern Cyprus.
The discussions mainly focused on opportunities to strengthen cooperation in crucial sectors such as civil protection and energy. The leaders took advantage of this opportunity to discuss the current developments in the situation in the Middle East, a central subject during this recurring trilateral summit.
Furthermore, it was noted that the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel represents a favorable step forward in pacifying regional tensions. As part of this meeting, various memoranda of understanding were signed, thus consolidating the commitment of the three parties to strengthen their cooperation.
