Cascais (Portugal) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita, met with the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, Tuesday in Cascais (Portugal), on the sidelines of the 10th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC).
This meeting, which is part of the ongoing consultation between Rabat and Madrid, focused on bilateral relations as well as issues of common interest.
The two ministers thus reiterated the importance of continuing consultation and further strengthening cooperation in different areas, in line with the common ambition of the two countries, highlighting the coordination of efforts for the preparation of the next deadlines and the monitoring the implementation of commitments made by the two countries.
The meeting was also an opportunity for MM. Bourita and Albares to review the progress made, to emphasize the importance of moving forward together and to reaffirm Moroccan-Spanish friendship.
This Forum, which extends over three days (November 25-27), brings together high-level personalities, including the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, the High Representative of the UNAOC, Miguel Angel Moratinos, the King of Spain Felipe VI, the Portuguese President, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Paulo Rangel.
The debates during this international event, in which political leaders, representatives of international and regional organizations, religious figures, as well as economic and civil society actors take part, focus on the issues of peace, security and dialogue between cultures and religions, while exploring the role of artificial intelligence and sport as levers to promote world peace.
