The Minister of Infrastructure, Land and Air Transport, Mr. Malick Ndiaye, chaired, this Tuesday, November 26, the opening ceremony to traffic of the “Front de Terre” flyover in Dakar. This strategic work, carried out under the project management of Ageroute, is part of the program to improve urban mobility. This program aims to reduce negative socio-economic impacts and limit unfavorable externalities linked to traffic jams, underlined the Minister.
During his speech, the Minister welcomed the completion of this important infrastructure project and gave instructions to his teams to carry out an in-depth assessment of the impacts of the flyovers on the flow of traffic and on the quality of life of the population. He also insisted on the need for a cost study in order to optimize future infrastructure projects.
Furthermore, he urged citizens to appropriate and preserve these works, while calling for vigilance to prevent their degradation. In addition, he asked his teams to work on establishing an agreement with the police or gendarmerie to secure these infrastructures and prevent any illegal occupation.
