It was Frédéric Daerden who announced the sad news on Instagram. “It is with a heavy heart and filled with sorrow that I address you to announce the death of my sister. Aurore was a flamboyant personality, terribly endearing with her dark sides like many of us”, writes the PS minister at the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and president of the PS of the Liège district
Although Aurore Daerden did not become a politician like her father and brother, she was a local figure in Liège. She was a DJ, stylist, model and shopkeeper. Although she was never drawn to politics, she had a good relationship with her father and was deeply affected by his death in 2012.
“Aurore was a flamboyant personality, terribly endearing with her dark sides like many of us. She had the soul of an artist, often inspired, sometimes provocative. In her career, she touched on fashion, music, television… but also sometimes the forbidden.”commented Frédéric Daerden again.
“A survivor, resisting the unleashing of human nature or the elements. However, she was unable to overcome her own demons. She made her life a fiction that surpassed all romantic effects. Chapters of panache, light, brilliance, wild freedom, secret wounds and a quest for the absolute. As Gloria Gaynor sang “I am what I am”. You were as you were. For me, you will forever be my little sister”.
