While the Managing Director of West African Energy (WAE), Samuel Sarr, is in detention, with a hearing scheduled for this Monday morning, the ballet of affairs continues. Dubai donors, the main financial partners of the energy project, are expected in Dakar today, according to L’Observateur.

This visit promises to be crucial in trying to keep afloat a 366 MW power plant, intended to provide 25% of national energy production. The program of their stay includes working sessions with key figures in the project, in particular with the Ministers of Energy and Finance. However, the arrest of the Director General of the WAE, right at the heart of these transactions, hangs like a shadow over these meetings.
