The Ministry of Equipment and Water and the International Water Resources Association (IWRA), are organizing the 19th Edition of the World Water Congress which will be held in Marrakech from December 1 to 5, 2025. This organization follows the wish expressed by the Moroccan Government, through the Ministry of Equipment and Water, to host the work of this Conference including the 7th Edition was held in Moroccan Land in 1991 in Rabat under the theme “Water for sustainable development in the 21st century”.
This 19th Edition which will be held under the theme “ Water in a changing world: innovation and adaptation », will present innovative solutions. Adaptive strategies for strengthening water and other water-related systems in an increasingly interconnected and constantly changing world at all levels will also be explored.
This Congress constitutes a platform for experts, practitioners, researchers, policy makers, civil society and private sector actors to exchange knowledge, present research, establish partnerships and jointly develop concrete solutions aimed at meeting the challenges complexities of global water governance, its security and sustainability.
The general theme of the 19th centuryth World Water Congress focuses on the dynamic interconnections between water, natural ecosystems, energy, agriculture and other human activities in the context of climate change. Emphasizing the need to innovate in the management of water resources, developing the capacity to adapt with changing environmental and societal demands and emphasizing the importance of ensuring resilience in use water governance and infrastructure, the Congress will explore the conditions under which these key elements can be integrated to create long-term sustainable solutions for water management in a continuously changing world.

After the success of the 18thth World Water Congress in Beijing, which provided a link with major international events such as the 2023 United Nations Water Conference and the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, the 19th Edition in Marrakech promises to continue to advance sustainable water management strategies for a better water future.
