The Montreal Canadiens announced Monday that their development camp will be held from July 2 to 5 at the CN Sports Complex in Brossard.

This year, thirty players are expected at the development camp, including 17 attackers, 9 defenders and four goalkeepers.

Seven of the 10 players selected in the 2024 NHL Draft held June 28-29 in Vegas will be present, including one of the Canadiens’ first-round picks, Michael Hage.

For their part, attackers Ivan Demidov and Aatos Koivu will not participate.

Demidov and Koivu were selected 5th and 70th overall in the last draft, respectively.

After his selection on Friday, Demidov said he was unsure if he would be able to participate since he did not have a visa to travel to Canada. Koivu said on Saturday that he preferred to focus on his training in Finland in the hopes of securing a spot with TPS Turku in SM-Liiga.

The list of players invited to the development camp includes 15 prospects drafted by the organization, one player acquired as a free agent, as well as 14 invited players. The players will be grouped according to their position.

On-ice practices will begin Wednesday, July 3 at 11 a.m. on both surfaces of the CN Sports Complex. All practices will be open to the public.
